Learn how to design abstract background of a Halloween Pumpkin.
Starting with creating a new file (File>New) of 1280x1024px and 72 dpi. Fill the new file with black color, using in this case the Paint Bucket Tool (G).

Find in Internet a picture with a pumpkin and cut it out, using the Eraser Tool (E).

Place the new element on our basic picture:

Find on this layer Blending Options>Inner Glow by making a mouse click on this layer on the layers’ panel:

The pumpkin gets this way its shadow:

Next select the Pen Tool (P) and draw the picture that will become later the necessary openings on the pumpkin:

Set the same Blending Options>Inner Shadow for each element:

Follow the parameters demonstrated next table - Blending Options>Outer Glow :

Blending Options>Stroke

As a result we’ve got the effect of openings having the shining light inside of the pumpkin:

Next we’ll write several words under the pumpkin, applying the Horizontal Type Tool (T) and following the next shown parameters:

Use next the Brush Tool (B) and the shown below brush’s style with the Opacity of 10%.

Try to picture on a new layer the coming outside light of the pumpkin:

Create a new layer under the layer containing the pumpkin and try to insert some luminescence under this pumpkin, following the same brush’s parameters described above:
